Astroturf renewal video
Sand-based, artificial sports pitches are costly and have a limited useful life. Contamination from sports shoes/boots plus leaves and other detritus blown onto the pitches mixes with the sand to form an almost solid matrix with the pitch fibres. This reduces the springiness of the surface, prevents rain from draining away, causes sludge puddles and results in a potentially dangerous playing surface.
Replay has invented a system, using several specialist machines able to remove all contamination along with the old sand and replace it with fresh sand. This process restores the pitch, giving it years of extra life at a fraction of the cost of replacing the surface completely.
Our promotional video follows the process from recognising the problem to completion of the renovation and features candid interviews with Head Groundsman and Replay's Technical Director.
